What was the most challenging situation encountered during design?

Istanbul - ATA-6: "Landing gear / spar conjunction"

Western Michigan: "Landing gear design"

Queens: "Pod drops"

MS State: "Finding a way to put the payload on the wing tip"

Naples: "After the design, see our aircraft flying!"

Describe the coolest crash your team has experienced

Western Michigan: "Taking off loaded, the wing was too small / not enough thrust. Took off in 150' but remained behind the power curve. The pilot managed to dead stick the airplane to the ground and saved the plane (controlled crash)."

Queens: "This year's was pretty good…"

Naples: "In the USA during the test flight the engine shaft was broken!"

Istanbul - ATA-6: "Upside down airplane during takeoff because of the runway roughness."

MS State: "When our BIplane went to *@!%"

What were some of the "most creative" names for your aircraft that did not make the final cut?

Istanbul - ATA-6: "We had a traditional name for this year and before, ATA."

Naples: "P-SELL-1"

Western Michigan: "Gold members"

MS State: "F.L.U.F.F. (Fat Little Ugly Flying 'Fellow'), Bub, The Raging Szymanskis"

How many times has the team plotted to kill the team leader this year?

Western Michigan: "Zero"

MS State: "Everytime we redesigned and added a wing! (3 in case you can't count)"
